A couple of tunes...Update-Tab Inside!

Unread post by MWR » Thu Dec 16, 2004 11:17 pm

Here's a couple of songs of mine to check out. There are plenty of flubbed notes and I mixed them pretty quickly but try to focus on the songs as a whole. No overdubs, just me and the git. Let me know if I'm in over my head. Thanks. :D

What can i say mike. you're awesome. they both sound great. december is really awesome, and the change at the end is awesome, sounded like you fumbled a tiny bit, but that was just from one listen.

by the way, what's your last name? i have you in my itunes library under MWR, and i want to change that.

nice work. any vocals? lyrics? nicely done. :)

At the end of the "December" one, those last two phrases would make awesome songs in their own.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I didn't expect these to be so well recieved.
I do enjoy singing and have written songs with vocals but this is purely instrumental. That's the direction I'm heading right now.
Ummm...I can't explain how to write. Countless hours on the instrument and a desire to push yourself beyond what you think you can do. I also try to squeeze as much emotion as I can out of each note. You can play something or you can PLAY something i.e. vibrato, bends, rakes, dynamics.
I use a thumbpick on "December Again" which is in DADFAD (open D minor).

I also decided to tab out "Mr. Midnight"(formerly DADGAD) for anyone interested in the technical mumbo jumbo or if you want to take a stab at learning how to play it .

Thanks again.
