My Recording

Unread post by SongThatJaneLikes » Tue Nov 30, 2004 12:56 am

I was playing around on the computer the other day and I wrote and recorded this song.
I recorded this is in audacity. http://www.audacity.sourceforge.net

There is also another recording I just found. It is from an open mic night i went to like a couple years ago. . . .
I think. It was a while ago. I tried to edit out the start of it when they introduce me.

Its a song called kundalini bonfire by Tim reynolds.. (my own medified version) ---> Stream ( A very odd version)

I couldnt play all the parts of Stream so I played the parts I could.
There is a little bit of muted string sound because I was sitting down and It was hard to play sitting down.

sounds like a certain part of tim reynold's "stream" to me just jammed around. you maintain the pace well. i'm not a fan of the slow middle part though, the timing is bit odd (and i'm the most lax person on here about timing).

It's pretty hard to record with my computer because my sound card is slow and doesnt process thing fast enough. This makes it very hard to record with myself.

i record on a soundblaster pci 16. it came with a computer that had windows 98 on it. it has nothing to do with the sound card. it's the mic, line, program.

the part around 1:17 sounds sweet as hell. i'm not really a fan of this reynold's song but you covered it really well especially live.

Thanks. I am listening to it right now and I am really not liking the muted sound. They had me play with this really wacked pick up that they put in the sound hole. It was hard to play around. I also played and sung to Too Much, Tripping Billies , Stay or Leave and Dancing Nancies.

That Kundalini->Stream was excellent. I'll listen to the other one tomorrow.

I've been playing for about 2 years. If any of you know what Creation Festival at the Gorge is I started playing then. I just started taking lessons about 2 weeks ago. I taught myself everything. I was listening intensely for the first time to some Dave, heard Jimi Thing and though "Holy Crap, This is the best music I have ever listened to in my life." So I picked up a guitar that someone there had, looked at a chord sheet that they had and just started playing like crazy. All I do now adays is play guitar,go to school, listen to as much Dave as I can and Sleep.

Thanks. I was a little nervous. It was pretty fun. About an hour before I was gonna play I though " I should change tuning at the end of song and play bits of Stream. . . . " Lol.

I'm listening to Cry Freedom right now. Live from Tweeter. 8)
