Sweet song, wow I can't believe I've found a place where my three fav bands are liked. DMB obviously, Cave likes Incubus, and now waffle likes 311. Those are my favs, and have been since the day I joined this site. I put those bands in my profile and never thought anyone else like them until now. Since waffle already mentioned something by 311, I'll have to say Pardon Me by Incubus. I don't have a distortion pedal but have used my phaser for the intro to that song and it sounds cool. It's a rather simple, totally rockin song that uses distortion. It would be really cool for you to cover it if you have a phaser too, that would be awesome.

Or freak out on, well, Freak Out by 311. Homebrew is also a classic 311 song.

I do not know what a minor third is, but when I started playing guitar, From Chaos was just released and I was obsessed with Amber so I tried to find a good tab site and found this to be pretty much the only one.

Yeah, and same with Incubus. Mike Einziger and Tim Mahoney have real similar playing styles using a ton of cool effects to make some really cool songs. The only trouble is that they don't use a lot of full chords making it hard to try and replicate without some percussion. I haven't tried playing any 311 in awhile, I ought to sometime next week. I've been all about Incubus these last few months, so I haven't really attempted any 311. Do you know of any easy 311 songs to play besides amber and IBHA?

all mixed up is easy, so is beautiful disaster.
they're both pretty fun to play, as well.
btw, any tips on playing reggae-style guitar would be appreciated

You're a little better at guitar than me. I don't really know any 311 songs. I've only been playing guitar since December of 2001, and I haven't really tried any 311 since then. I'm gonna go try some. I would love to be able to play BD, but I tried before and failed miserably. About the reggae stuff, maybe DL some videos of Bob Marley or some 311 for that matter. Also, listen to some O.A.R. I don't know if you've heard of them, but they are a sort of reggae rock band.
