I don't know the words well, but I sang it anway. I can't sing it well, but I sang anyway. and yeah, I did it one track, one take if that matters in your "critique". I don't think it does.

yo dawg...i was really impressed bro...seriously...you got that first riff and the strumming down man. I havent heard anyone play it like that before...what happened at the end??? I didnt hear any singing...i heard you at the very end and you hit those high notes...next time it would be cookl to hear you sing the ending too...hey.... it says something that I even "heard" the ending...honestly, i usually dont get that far.

I couldn't bring myself to attempt to sing the loud part in the ending. I'll practice the singing more and learn the lyrics somewhat properly, and I'll give her another go.
thanks for listening, and for the good comments. peace, bro
I kinda struggled with the vocals on it tonight. I sing with my throat too much, and it gets tired. I gotta learn to sing better.

Wow grave, that's sweet. You sounded great too!

Nice work... is this a hard song to learn?

thanks. I got addicted to it, so I practiced it and practiced, and just always was playing it for awhile, so I don't really know if it was hard. I guess relatively speaking, it's not as hard a lot of his songs. I really love the L@LC version which I used to play along with to get the timing and the strumming pattern, but I also came across an old version of Dave acoustic solo (dowload it!) with completely different lyrics. The emotion was so high in that one, it blew me away - and that's where I got the variation pattern for the intro . thanks again for the nice words.
peace,
Ken

Real nice, Grave. Guitar sounds right on and the singing was good too. I've always loved this tune.....I always seem to use this opening riff whenever I'm warming up......it's got a great flow to it.

Great Job Gravedigger! I like the way you articulate the individual strings in the intro (much like LLC) rather than just strumming it. Do you know the date of the Dave solo acoustic version that you were refering to or the file name so I can try to download it?

the version I have isn't from the Rutebega sessions but I assume he played it the same way. the version I have, it seems like he's making up the lyrics as he goes.
