So damn lucky cover

Unread post by themaker » Wed Mar 31, 2004 11:27 am

Hey guys i finally decided to post this cover. I recorded it over a month ago and forgot to post it. That was til i discovered this neat trick in cool edit that you all probably know already.....MIX PASTE. I just bought a wah pedal recently and added a second guitar to the track. Don't get me wrong, I'm no Ritz Bitz when it comes to doing lead guitar stuff. Anyway here's the link....any comments (good or bad) will be appreciated. Thanks a whole heap! :)

Hey bro! Very nice with the peddle effects. The guitar was very strong in my opinion...not the easiest of songs with the high hammoring but you did really well. Your voice was in tune 99% of the time which is awesome. Only constuctive criticism is your voice is a little too high of a pitch for the song it seems. Not a bad thing, just something to think about. Oh yeah, this is not an insult by any means, but did you know you sound just like Kermit the Frog....i seriously dont mean that in a bad way, just a little resemblance. Good Job!

nice job maker. the guitar is very solid. and damn those falsettos, but you did a nice job of those too. i just sing them normal, i can never get those notes to sound good.

i enjoyed it thoroughly!

I liked that. A little different. I really liked the wah effect.

Tatertot you are right, it does resemble Kermy :) and that is DEFINITELY NOT an insult in any way or meant to be rude in any way, like he said just a resemblance. Anyway awesome cover...really tough song to get down singing and all so veryy very good job.

yeah man, the wah stuff was pretty nice, and i think the higher you can sing makes any dave cover better, and you hit the high stuff well
good job:D

You voice is on tune, but it KINDA sounds like you're singing muppet-style! Try dropping your upper pallet a little, try relaxing. Not trying to be mean at all...but on the positive side I liked the wah effects, they sounded tight and you were on key the whole time, good job!

yep muppet style hehe... it's true that i struggle singing those high notes. that wouldn't be a problem if my vocal range is higher...when i took voice lessons my teacher told me my normal voice is for bass......yet now im trying to sing like a tenor! haha a muppet tenor! i think all dave songs are so high up there, but i reallly like'm so i try my best to get up there.

for the hammer-ons, i just try to keep my index finger really stable when making that bar....(forgive me for my lousy guitar language....i dont know the terms very well)

The only thing that I can really suggest is getting your index finger to stay put, which isn't really the hard part... but getting your ring and pinky fingers to stay the same distance apart. When I first started playing this I gave up on it because I couldn't hit the hammer on because of my ring and pinky fingers not being able to hit it without hitting the D string or just do the hammer on's on the A and D string, they just wouldn't stay the same distance apart, but any how. You'll get better with the practice, can't really give any other advice beside that. Good luck :-)
