who cares if its easier? i thought these contests were judged by how well the song was played, not how hard a time the people had recording it.
and aren;t there a few people here who say that whether a song is simple/complex/hard-to-play/easy is no indication of its musical value?

My post got buried in this thread cuz of the whacky time issues, but I'm posting it again [cuz my point is that damn good!

Are you aguing that someone who sings awesome and plays awesome, but can't do the two together is equally as talented as someone that can sing and play just as awesome as the first guy, but can do them together? That's a tough one to sell, dude...
I'd be up for a single-track challenge, but not everyone (including me) has the equipment to produce a good recording of it. I can get good sound from my guitar and then vocals each as separate tracks, but to record them together I'd be relegated to using the PC mic.

Stop getting so defensive FJ. By 'easier' I think tico means that by multitracking, one can concentrate on nailing the guitar parts and then the vocal parts separately (yielding a better final product) without needing the talent to put the two together.fatjack wrote:who cares if its easier? i thought these contests were judged by how well the song was played, not how hard a time the people had recording it.

i dont think talent matters at all, i thought the votes where based on how well the song was pulled off. who cares how hard it was to accomplish?Roastbeef wrote:Are you aguing that someone who sings awesome and plays awesome, but can't do the two together is equally as talented as someone that can sing and play just as awesome as the first guy, but can do them together?
