I think you are laying into the bass notes during the verses a little too heavily.. um.. I think you are slightly too dramatic with the dynamics in your voice, you emphasize a little hard in the first verse.. you cheat some beats of their full lengths every once and a while..
ok, well, I could maybe find more things to be critical about, but now we are justing working towards perfecting it and not just making it good
good stuff
thanks for saying it so i didn't have to

Just 'cause I can't do it doesn't mean I don't know what sounds good, and ultimately that's all that matters. But flame me, as you will.

What can I say, I am a gluten for punishment..
NoNotThat wrote:singing that dramatically is the only way I can hit those notes
Well, as Trippin so keenly wanted to point out, I can't either

But besides, I think maybe with a proper vocal mic/rack setup the dramatics would sound fine, and are probably even approriate.

I don't think he was flaming her, but as you said he might not be the right one to criticize Sarah's vocals.
let's chill.

she knows exactly what i think of her singing and playing, and i know exactly what she thinks of mine.
i've said this same thing about firedancer's recordings and how everyone responded. continually praising and giving nothing but positive feedback will NEVER help someone get better. pointing out weaknesses or saying what you thought could be done better will help someone a lot more than just saying "sounds great!", "great job", or "you're gonna be famous!"

Ive never herd the original but it seems like a really cool song.
I was impressed by your playing, very clean and precise. If theres just one thing i would comment on is the singing, although your voice is really good, it would come out better if you moderated it a bit. I mean when itsa quiet part youd be real quiet and when its a lous part youd be hella loud. Just some where in between would be great.
Anyway thats just me, over all i think its great, i enjoyed listening to it
