Ironic. This song fits you perfectly.
I don't think you understand the concept of irony. But that's neither here nor there. It was a joke and a very obvious joke at that.

When you first started, did you practice dave's leg movements? I am not bashing, just honestly curious.

I figured you wouldn't understand.

Yeah I did. As soon as I started playing music I was watching Dave mimicing his every move. It used to be all I could do. Maybe I got away with it because I was 14

Not bad, sir, but you forgot to say "Ya'll smell good this evening" before segueing into song.

I really enjoy your performances, but maybe try sitting or something. The foot tapping is fine if you're keeping time, but around 1:50 I thought I was watching Jimi Thing from Central Park.

if that is all coming out naturally, then that's great. but if Dave never existed or you hadn't heard of him, would you be doing the same thing?

does it matter? if the beatles didnt exist, would the music nowadays still be the same?
most everybody starts out playing music because someone inspired them to do so.

If Dave didn't wasn't around I don't think i would have started playing. I was listening to the mainstream rap and punk when i first saw the Dave Matthews Band. Thats what made me want to try music out. When I was playing early on I saw myself as a 100% Dave Matthews. But now when i play and kinda look at myself from the inside I only see me.

That probably sounds weird.

To answer the question: If i did get into music without the help of DMB music my style would be different. I could have been moving like Eddie Vedder up there or something

that was a really good song...i definietly see where people are comin from with the dave comments but really how many people were that good in high school? you should listen to jimi hendrix's stuff and try to incorporate some of his sounds into your playing, you already have the singing down and the rhythm guitar down, get some good leads going and take your rhythm 'thoughts' away from dave a little and youll be good to go

Jack of all trades,

First off, let me start by saying that you have some talent...you have a very good voice to compliment your guitar skills. I checked out some of your songs and your youtube videos and your pretty good. If only i was more creative to be able to write my own stuff and a little more brave to even get up and perform for people i'd be posting my material in this forum as well.

Obviously your very passionate about your skills and thats why you post in this recording & critiquing forum. However, you need to stop creating usernames in order to get someone on your side, so to speak. This revelation shows that you probably can't handle people critiquing that you sound/dance/write like Dave. If that's the case, then i suggest you stop posting material. Unless you become a little more open-minded with whats thrown at you, you will never grow as a musician. You can always start up a dmb cover band, but until then, we don't need another Jenna41.

Let the harrassing begin. Thanks

Edit: Oh, and this isn't the first time you have done this. We'll let these two slide.
