DmbFanJason wrote:it may sound too fast because, the way it sounds is how dave plays it on the (4-22-93) first dave and tim concert...but i have heard dave play it at different speeds...however, I as well do play it slower sometimes, like he does with he plays with the band....in my opinion he plays it slower with the band, and faster with just tim...what do you think?peace
I honestly havn't heard the recording you're referring to so I can't say for sure, but any way you look at it it sounds good. a cover doesn't have to sound exactly like the way the original writer played it anyways. just jasonize it and go! :D

good, just because I have a hard time saying great about any covers, it has nothing to do with the performance, it's as good as it could be just about in my book

hey man, all the comments about your version not BEING EXACTLY LIKE DAVE PLAYS it, i think you should DISREGARD all of them, i mean ive heard dave play it slow, ive heard him play it fast... it's a matter of taste, i think you should play it your way anyway....

just for the record, I didn't mean that he didn't play exactly like Dave - I was just making a general statement that everyone sounds different.
I rated it Good because it sounds like how I play and sing it and I don't think I do a great job. If that makes any sense.

peace,
Ken

i know what you mean by playing it "my way", but i just think if you're going to do a dave cover, it sounds best the way dave plays it...It's funny because every cover i have heard dave play sounds better than the original version too...so, i just try to play it just as the man himself...peace playas.

I just listened to it again and now I think you did a great job as opposed to just a good job like I voted. You didn't go off key, you didn't break rhythm you didn't screw up that I noticed. There is real potential in your voice, man use it. I'd like to hear some of your other ones.

peace,
Ken
good, and you?
