good rhythm. kind of reminds me of a jars of clay song, frail. great song. this one is different, but it definitely reminds me of it...not an insult at all.
you have a good voice and a great sense of rhythm. i dig it. i like the soft vocals, really adds to the song.

That is fucking hilarious. I played this for a friend when I wrote it a few months ago and she said the exact same thing and it hit me because I'm a big jars of clay fan. So that kind of pissed me off because the first time I played it it was in standard tuning and it almost matched it. So i dropped the song for a little while until last week. I think on this one I dropped it down half a step or something and tried to change the vocal mealody a bit. But ya, you are very right, it does sound like frail.Appfro wrote:good rhythm. kind of reminds me of a jars of clay song, frail. great song. this one is different, but it definitely reminds me of it...not an insult at all.

there's nothing wrong w/ sounding like your influences. frail is a great song. as long as youre not trying to completely rip them off or purposely trying to capture the song and make your own you're in the clear. there is no such thing as original anymore, it'll always sound like something.mattinbeloit wrote:That is fucking hilarious. That's true, it is getting to that point. I poped in Stand Up today and swear that I heard a Britney Spears in there...Appfro wrote:there's nothing wrong w/ sounding like your influences. frail is a great song. as long as youre not trying to completely rip them off or purposely trying to capture the song and make your own you're in the clear. there is no such thing as original anymore, it'll always sound like something.mattinbeloit wrote:That is fucking hilarious.
