Video

Unread post by 2Stepleadguitarist » Sat Dec 18, 2004 8:54 pm

Ok Ok everybody I am going to let filmdude host the video once I hear back from him. In the meantime To reply to the comments about the live solos. Everything we do is unrehearsed. The reason that the sax and bass and keys sometimes play licks together during their improvs is because they have been playing together for years and just know each other's chops really well. The bassist never even heard any DMB on bass before I taught him all of these tunes. Him sounding like Victor is just coincidence. Like I said it was our first show with the new guys. We pride our band on our jams because we don't just copy Dave. And we also did just play at Pot Belly's a month or two ago, and played there last year during game 7 of the world series. The band is Two Step. I'll PM these too.
The DMCB is officially broken up. 2-Step is stepping up to be the next best national tribute to DMB.

I'll put the video back up.

I'll put the video back up, but everybody be sure and SAVE it with save target as so you don't have to download it more than once, and if the link isn't working it is because the server traffic is too high. So just try again later. Be sure and let me know what you think, esp. of #41.

well done, i didnt like two step and DDTW (prob because of poor recording), but #41 is really goood. Your brother tries too hard sound like dave. THeres no need to, becuase i think he'd sound better just with his real voice. this is really my opinion, but i really like to see the singer when he sings. you're blocking him! lol. can you sing? maybe you should take the job. nice solos man. love the guitar lol

Nice recording.......as mentioned before, the singer to me sounds unnatural. With that said, he sings in tune, and puts alot of emotion into it all the while playing some kick ass drums. You guys have a great sound, and I think it's bad ass you got Ruben Studdard to play bass for you guys!

So if you critique the vocals, because everybody loves to tear down DMB tribute bands over the vocals, keep in mind everything that he is doing while singing in the cold just weeks after having a quarter of his right lung removed during surgery. He's my brother and I look up to him for all of his talent. I am the lead guitarist, but will never be as talented. I have never met a person as talented in all of our touring and performing with big names like Earth Wind and Fire, Lifehouse, The Embers, John Catherty and the Beaver Brown Band, Staind, and Virginia Coalition, just to name a few. Drummers who can read music, just ask me and I will have him personally work up any drum lick from any DMB tune on sheet music for you. He not only knows them all verbatim but improvises on them even better than Carter sometimes. He's a prodigy, and if I looked that word up in the encyclopedia would expect to see a picture of him as he is also only 19 and an extremely high paid studio drummer. I'm not just saying all of this because he is my brother. I'm saying it because bands from all over the country have solicited his talent and he has stuck with this band believing whole-heartedly, like myself, that we have a chance to accomplish the great task of getting a platinum album some day.
No need to spend this time defending what hadn't even been torn down at all. I thought it kicked fucking ass.

I agree, the band sounds tight and the drumming is badass but I have a question. Why doesn't the guitarist just learn to sing?

The only that would put me off about seeing you guys play is the vocals. Not that they're terrible its just that he tries too hard to sound like dave.
