Out of the Blue
This song is in DADGAD Tuning
It's hard to understand some transcriptions of acoustic fingerstyle songs, as there are techniques that you can't really put into tablature. You can figure it out though, just listen carefully.

I did play for the talent show. (Last night) It went pretty well. I changed the order around about 15 minutes before I went on. I didn't have time to memorize the order, so I just wrote it on a piece of paper. Of course, the paper fell off my leg 1/4 of the way through. It's alright, I remembered it and played it the way I wanted. I seemed to get alot of respect from the parents, as I was like a "calmer, more appropriate" act. I got alot of "great jobs" from the adults.
There was no competition, so nobody won.
And I didn't use theory for this. I mean, I'm sure it like corresponds with some theory, but I didn't use like technical theory to write it. Like, I know what notes to put in a song and what not to, I just don't understand why I guess. I just have my own reasons as to why everything works together. Once I start taking lessons, I'll be like "Ohhh that's why". Kinda hard to explain.

I understand
Everybody knows some licks and tricks that sounds good, and you just have to mess around with them... thats what my teacher told me! But yeah it is corresponding with harmonic theory, you manage not to use the bad sounding tritone interval anywhere it would sound odd and things like that. Great job man, and cool you stepped up to that talent show. I would have been scared to death to play alone in front of a lot of people.

bitchin' song...looking at the tab, on the part:
D----------------------------------------------------
A----0---5--8-------10-----0---5----8--10----10--
D----2---7--9p8h9s11-----2---7----9--11----11-- x 2
G-----------------------------------------------------
A-----------------------------------------------------
D--0---0----8-------10-----0---0----8--10----10--
Do you play the bottom D string on the 8 and 10th fret with your thumb or what? It just seems like the 9p8h9s11 section would be hard to play without using your thumb on the 8 on the bottom D string.

No, its kind of akward though. You have to barre the 8's on the G and high A strings, and you pull-off with your ring finger.EnFuego wrote:bitchin' song...looking at the tab, on the part:

wow, I didn't realize I labeled the sections backwards! Sorry, it should go from top to bottom: DAGDAD.
