alright, i made a page with three covers on it: 41, dancing nancies, and grace is gone. im not going to make a seperate page for it like most people do because it'll just crash the site, but to anyone that wants to hear my covers, go here.

i don't know about it being an exact replica of tim's part in typical situation, especially not at luther college, but once you got into it, you jammed the living hell out of it. i think you ought to concentrate on using tim's parts as a base for your own, which it sounds like you did toward the last half. keep up the good work!

id like to say good work to tad on those covers
there are parts in #41 that are choppy, but other than that, great work.
where did you learn the tab for the intro to gig? it isnt on this site is it?
and also, what kind of effects do you use?

Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

the intro for gig i just kinda did by ear, i could probably write out a tab for it if you want. it's not the same as on the album but pretty close. i dont remember what kind've effects i used, i just used a couple in cool edit that i found and kept em turned down pretty low.johntherevelator wrote:id like to say good work to tad on those covers

ok taddie...my takes
#41--->your chops are deffinitely right, but the sound of the effect that you are using there needs to be tweaked (it has a tinny sound)...just my opinion, but I think if you went with the sound like in GIG, it would have more potential...near the end..i like the variation that you throw in seriously...ya' just need somebody to play along with
call timmy
Nancies---> Nice, I like it, but there doesn't seem to be any structure to what you are laying down...the measures seem off at time...but you need to sing it man! (look who's talking eh')..it happens to me all of the time when I get fixated on a song for a night...kinda' get into your own little thing and forget where yo are exactly
Grace Is Gone---> This is by far the best of the three...I really like the sweat bend at the beginning...the guitar sounds great! The only single fault if I had to pick one, would be the tempo gets a tad choppy and sped up at times...
Altogether, nice work...do you do your own work? how long have you been playing? do you sing and play at the same time???
Anyhow, I LIKE them and think that I would like to hear more from you when you get the chance...peace

hey, thanks for posting man. yeah, if you notice while listening to the tracks, you can actually sing the words along with with the guitar because when i laid down the guitar i sang the lyrics to key changes and such. i actually do sing as much as i play guitar, its just that my computer is crappy and i have no way to record the voice, just the guitar. i've been playing for a little over two years now. i'll be laying down a lot more covers the next couple weeks because im making a covers cd for my girlfriend for valentines day, so we'll see how that goes.firedancer86 wrote:ok taddie...my takes![]()

dude, I'm glad you think so, but c'mon...no false humility here, I though the lead missed WAY too many notes and was not mixed well either...
thanks anyway 8)
