Can you provide some samples? I'm looking to start fooling around with recording and I have a Socom headset.

This might be kind of a stupid question, but how do you apply effects to only a portion of a track??? For example, I wanna record a song where most of it will just be my acoustic and a lil reverb, but for some parts I wanna add a phaser. Do I have to copy the track and cut out the parts I dont want to have the phaser on, then apply it??? Anyone know what I'm talkin about??? I am not sure if you can highlight a certain part of a track, and apply effects to only that part... Thats really what I kinda wanna do.

After I highlight it, what do you click on to apply the effects to just that portion???

I can't test this atm, but you should be able to just highlight the portion of the track, then find the effect you want under "Transform" I think, do the settings the way you want 'em and hit OK or whatever the button is, and it should apply it to just the section you have highlighted.

Yup. Just select it from the menus like you would if applying it to the whole track and it will only be applied to the selection.

A couple questions, I have and output from my amp going into the sound input on my laptop using cool edit pro. The only thing is it sounds really distorted. I turned the gain and volumes down on both the guitar and the amp and it still did it.

Also if I want to record a whole show of my friends band will the program just run the whole length as long as there's enough room on my hardrive?

I'm using the trial version, should I get the full one from Kazaa or something, does it have any more features.

thanks for the help in advance

Make sure you're plugging into your LINE-IN and not your MIC port, as a line out from an amp is already powered. yes, it should just keep recording until you run out of hd space (or battery if you're not plugged). I don't know the differences between the trial version and the full version, but you might want to just get the full version in case it's something like "can only record the first 5 minutes" and you don't find out until you're recording your friend's band.

Thanks for the help, I've been playing around with it and messed with my line in and the gain and volume on the amp and have gotten a little better sound, but I still seem to be maxing something out. In the bottom portion of the screen when I have the program open there's that line of colors (mostly green) and when I hit some notes it goes into the red zone, could that be why its sounding kind of harsh??
Thanks again

so how do I go about fixing this, I'm pretty sure turning down the gain and volume on the amp will do it, but is there any way to do something within the program to fix it?

Nope; the program should not be amplifying anything at all, so you're going to have to change it before it goes into the computer (i.e. the gain on the amp).
