A couple songs
Hey, I posted a few times like, 2 or 3 years ago. No one remembers me, I'm sure. ANYWAYS...Check out my music page, let me know what you all think!!! http://www.myspace.com/jeremyshortandthesoulpatrol . You'll have to excuse the name, it took me about 5 minutes to realize that it has something to do with Taylor Hicks.
For your first song blues bossa, i didnt know what was happening in it, there were some sort of volume swells but it just sounded like you had a back chord or something. The song was just soloing over a jazz/ blues progression which is fun for the player. Not as much for the listener if the song lacks some structure and is only guitar soloing. Some parts were a little chopping but i take it that was mostly improv. which is pretty impressive.
The second song started out alright. It sort of turned into just "noise" in a few parts that got carried away on the solos. It kinda ends abruptly too.
The sherrif cover was my favourite of the electric pieces because i followed along a little more than the others. The guitars were pretty clean together for the most part. Not too much "tangling" of guitar sounds between the two.
While the last song was short, it was pretty enjoyable. I also have an effinity for most anything acoustic.
Over all it looks pretty good to me. Made me all nostalgic of my old smokey open mic nights of the past.

There is some structure on Blue Bossa. The first time through the changes is the head, then everything until the head comes around again is improv. And the 'swells' in that tune can be blamed on my friend, who held the mic when I recorded it. He thought it would be funny to move the mic back and forth to the amp really fast. Turns out, it wasn't funny at all.
Whats with the sound on your first song? It's kinda of annoying. The harmonizer effect should go on the second song. Thats also annoying. Defenetly here the allman bro's influence. Sherrif was entertaining. And didn't listen to the last one. I wouldn't call these complete recordings. And I hope you don't.
