i really enjoyed this. great voice, great guitar. you have a great sense of rhythm. i really don't have any criticisms except to let your voice go a little more, you sound like anthony kedis (sp?) a lot, only you sound like you're holding your voice back a little. Great little percussion in the middle of the chorus and verses. Very impressed man, very. Great job, the rest of the people on the boards are really going to enjoy this also.

I enjoyed this. Great quality recording, your guitar sounds great (what kind is it?) Your guitar and vocals are balanced very well. I've never heard the original of this tune; I'll have to get a copy of it. If that means anything, you've inspired me to hear your source.

When you sing "if i drift long enough" I think you could afford to belt that out a little more. Your "enough" seems a little held back. Let it go.

I agree with Appsoldier that your voice resembles Anthony Keidis, especially if you'd let loose a little more.

All in all, nice work.
-Brian

very true to the orriginal. that's my first comment (im listening to it now and my roommate walked in and was like "is that johnson?" and i was like "nah it's a buddy of mine covering it" and he was like "damn that's awesome"...)

your voice is a little too rasta for my tastes have you tried singing this in your orriginal voice instead of trying to mock his voice? i dunno if that's yor orriginal singing voice, but if it's not just check it out...

you hit all the notes very nicely... and i love the drum beat on the guitar after the 1:30 mark.

if i heard htis live i'd be grooving to it... great stuff!

Good job, true to the original like xoosh said, your voice is pretty good, fits jacks music good. If I end up transferring to PSU we need to jam, I still cant believe I havent met musicians to play with down here. Anyway, nice job.

Wow guys, thanks for all the input, if anything its a self esteem builder. To answer some questions my guitar is a Fender GA-45SCE and the mic is like a 30 buck logitech. I've never heard anyone say i sounded like Anthony Keidis, I've heard Chris Martin once but never Anthony. I'll do more Jack covers if you want but im looking to do a cover of The Scientist or The Drugs Don't Work or hopefully an original if i ever write a decent one. Jayme, definitely consider coming to Penn State, its a really great school and it would be awesome to have somebody to jam with who was at my level. The only difference between Kent State and Penn State is more people come to watch the football team lose.

PS - I noticed the site is temporarily unavailable so if anyone still wants to here it shoot me an IM at the same name.

I don't think i've heard the original b4 , but this cover was great , keeping the rhythm on the guitar , and the vocals were on key the whole time i think , great stuff for sure , i liked listening to this one alot :) Keep them coming
