I'll be honest; the drums were done in Fruity-Loops. The rest is a huge Danelectro pedal set. I do have an acoustic version as well.

And, the lyrics:

heart's a plastic house of cards
breathe a little breathe at all
and all is lost

true love's urequited
real loves passed, you're real love's gone
your love is naught

'cause the one inside, you swear she doesn't
love you like she used to
her heart has stopped

and you are not where you should be
this isn't it, what you had dreamed
what you had thought

a sentimental fuck you are
all stupid and drunk and useless
exasperated, a bleed sore
like a pig tied to a stick

so do it while you have the nerve
finish up your coffee first
and then you'll start

a thousand doubts'll come around you
shrug 'em off, ignore 'em
'cause fuck it all

you know what it is you want
you know why you're leaving
know what you need

you love yourself, you hate yourself
stomach aches and belly-yells
why not me?

a sentimental fuck you are
all high and drunk and useless
exasperated, an aging sore
tied like a pig to a stick

you're a lover, borrow cupid's
wings and soar away from it
as when you were young

remember when she first grew up
told you when she first made love
and your heart broke

'cause you always thought you'd be the one
your soul is welded to her own
and now it's gone

still the cinders of the sparks
a heart glued back together
but missing parts

a sentimental fuck you are
all high and drunk and useless
exasperated, an aging sore
tied like a pig to a stick
a sentimental fuck you are
all stupid drunk and useless
exasperated, a bleeding sore
like a pig tied to a stick
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

This is really good. I'd lose the delay and reverb on the vocals though.
Nice harmonies and a catchy chorus.
Not a fan of the swearing though. Less is more if you know what I mean.

Thanks man. I've heard some criticism on the cursing before, so I've cut it back on some of my other stuff. Kind of overdoing the "melancholy lyrics over happy music" routine.

There's some reverb on the backing vocals, that's true, but no delay; just me singing it ten times over and coming in late half the time. After a while, you just get tired of rerecording because you want to get it done.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

i liked it, i agree about the swearing.
i see swearing as an all purpose adjective and this song deserves better,

the song goes somewhere, unlike most and R and C.

when i listen it sounds like radio head, the beatles and the blue man group all on one song.

im glad i DL this. nice one bro
Gervais on Rosa Parks "she was arrested but then that law was changed- but she didnt stop there, she started sitting in the seats saved for disabled people. unbelavable, she talked to the driver when the bus was in motion- did she have the correct change ready? - did she bollox!"
