Should I make this into a full song?
Should I make this into a full song?
I came up with this cool rhythm riff and I wanted to see if you guys think I should make it into a full song. Here's the link. I appreciate any advice. (I know it's only one part, but maybe you can push me in the right direction)

It's kind of hard to tell though, the 'riff' doesn't really go anywhere. There are about 1000 things you could do with it. So yes, try and fit it into a song somehow, it would be interesting to hear what it sounds like.
Sorry that I really didn't say anything helpful.

I did make it off beat on purpose. I thought that would switch it up a little bit. I like it, and I'll probably add more to it in a couple days and post it as a rough draft. I'll still take any input that anyone gives though.

just because its not in 4/4 doesnt mean its off beat.Hydro120 wrote:You should continue with it if
a) You like it
b) You have lyrics that fit with it
Question: Did you purposely make it off beat (as in, not a full 4/4)?
i didnt listen to it, but i will say that anytime i have come up with a riff and tried to force myself to write a song around it i hated it. it just has to flow, if you're making it a poll on dmbtabs i dont think you'll be happy with the result

Uh..yeah...I know what "offbeat" means. Hence, the "not a full 4/4". If you prefer, I COULD have said 7/8. If you notice, it's not in 3/4 either - which is also not offbeat.praisedave wrote:just because its not in 4/4 doesnt mean its off beat.Hydro120 wrote:You should continue with it if
