I had a song idea

Unread post by deceptivehero » Wed May 10, 2006 9:32 am

Hi guys,

I've been part of this board for a while, haven't been as active lately and had pretty much put down my guitar, then I picked it up and pretty much this just came out of me. It's very short, not near completion or anything but I wanted to know if it sounds alright, I hate the way my voice sounds and don't feel I could trust my friends to be brutally honest with the song. Please Dmbtabbers, you are my only hope. Check me out here: http://www.purevolume.com/stevefrantz

Hey man, sorry that no one's left anything for you. It's got kind of an old-school singer/songwriter feel to it, in terms of the melody and the progression. Voice needs some work, it's pitch here and there, like you're not sure which note you wanna sing, but other than that, it's a decent start. I'm really not one to talk, I haven't even posted any original stuff yet. *walks away in shame*

Yeah actually that was my first attempt at singing a song, outside singing along with Dave. Any suggestions on how I can improve because I think your stuff sounds really good.

Hey man, thanks, I appreciate it. There's not much I can tell ya, except just keep singing. That's all I've done, and I've been singing for 6 years now. That's the only reason I sing as well as I do. Stick with what's comfortable for now, and just use your ears to hear the pitch, 'cause I'm sure you can hear when it's not quite right. And just sing. All the time. That's pretty much it. I'm sure there are others here who could offer you more in-depth advice. Good luck.
