Unread post by srslots81 » Tue Apr 18, 2006 3:10 pm

Hey guys,

just wanted you to check out my new band, called Bend, out of NYC

here is our myspace page

http://www.myspace.com/l3end

The only song with our line up is Unpredictable, recorded live at The Lions Den a couple weeks ago. Im playing guitar. Let me know if you like the song, i think its a real rocker.

The other 2 songs are recorded in Israel with the singer's old line up.

hope you enjoy. If you do, Add Bend as a friend, and if you are in the area, come check us out!

Damn! That rocks.
Kanter wasn't kidding when he said you were good. Kudos to you man.

Singer has a cool voice. There's a little too much reverb on the vocals for my taste.
Your guitar tone is incredible. What's your setup?

EDIT: does your singer have a lisp?

i dug it. good shit man. if i lived in your area, i would definetly check it out. the only thing i didn't like was the quick keyboard notes in between measures on the intro and inbetween verse and chorus. just reminded me of old timey western bars.

i LOVED the guitar breaking away from rhythm and playing lead licks, even in the middle of verses. i've always been a huge fan of that if it's pulled off the right way and you guys definetly did it.

Thanks guys!

the reverb on the singers voice was done by the soundguy and wasnt an onstage move. he does have a cool voice, and he also does have a lisp and an israeli accent. but it works most of the time.

the tone question is a little interesting. i put a lot of time into getting 'my sound', so when my Deville 2x12 stopped working 2 days before the show i got real pissed. no time to fix it, so i was gonna use the house Marshal JCM900 half stack. Get there, and the clean channel is no where near clean. so after all my fusing and worrying i plugged directly into the PA, and let my guitar, fingers and pedals do the work.

i had like no sustain and the clean sound was real thin. for pedals i use an analogman modded TS9, a homebrew powerscreamer and an original Ibanez AD-9 analog delay a co-worker gave me, plus a TU-2, thats it. all through a 50th anniversay american standard strat. the one with the 2 tone sunburst ash body and custom shop pickups. amazing guitar for under a grand.

i was imressed with the sound i got on that song with just the PA, cause other songs that night werent as good. the sound was just way too thin.

if you guys liked it, ill keep posting new recordings when we have them! thanks for the support!

love the sound... i think the singer could use some work on his vocals, but that's really the only critique i have... and definately keep us posted on any new songs
