My *real* Acapella Group >- VIDEO ADDED! -<

Unread post by BenPezzner » Tue Feb 28, 2006 7:43 pm

Since we're nearing the two year anniversary of my first posting (acapella Typical Situation on March 10th, 2004 on nancies.org), I figured I'd create a thread for the real acapella group that I co-started this year. I wouldn't have been inspired to start a real group if it weren't for the positive feedback I got from this board, so this thread is dedicated to my acapella group, The Beat.

Our website temporarily resides at http://ucsdbeat.homestead.com and I'll be updating it with pictures and video, but only a small sample will make the website. For those of you who are interested I'll post everything else in this thread.

The first post is some video taken of this song called X-Box Lovin' during rehearsal where we were auditioning for the solo. It's rather hilarious since we had just learned the song and we keep screwing it up... I'd say these are more like outtakes than anything else.

(I'm the one singing in the first and last video clip)

Enjoy!

ok, no offense man. you're pretty good, but don't let any of those other guys sing falsettos ever again. you were bar none the best one out of the bunch. but you still need some work. that shit is hard, you're going to have to work at it. but dont' let those other guys do it for sure.

ps. the asian girl is hot.

 Good stuff. It comes down to you and the guy with the alien workshop shirt on, but I think you got it.. you sound a bit better. The guy with the striped collar shirt was hilariously awful. And I didn't know Dino was there..

Good job.

LOL... you guys are hilarious. For the record, it came down to me and the guy with the striped shirt. It was close but in the end the solo went to me. Stay tuned for video from our first performance!

Ben

ps: the fourth clip is definitely the funniest... that guy wasn't planning on trying out for the solo but we made him anyway... all in good fun

So last night my group performed for an audience of 500... yes, I don't have a clue how that many people showed up, but it was awesome nonetheless. We did three songs, the last one being the x-box song. Stay tuned for pics/video!
