ive got audicity..and im just using my computer mic right now.. im no where near the level where im going to go out and buy some good recording equipment. the one problem im having is unless i play without a pick the guitar always completley dominates my voice...is there anyway i can somehow edit it to lower the volume of my guit, while keeping the voice higher? or is the only solution to play with the mic two inches from my face??

You have to record two different tracks, one vocal, one guitar. Even really fine tuning the EQ won't do you much good. It will sound better separated anyway, then you can mix them just as it pleases you.proudestmonkey41 wrote:ive got audicity..and im just using my computer mic right now.. im no where near the level where im going to go out and buy some good recording equipment. the one problem im having is unless i play without a pick the guitar always completley dominates my voice...is there anyway i can somehow edit it to lower the volume of my guit, while keeping the voice higher? or is the only solution to play with the mic two inches from my face??
