I'm very new to computer recording and recording in general and i'd like to get something that would allow me to interface a good mic and a guitar piezo pickup into my computer for recording. What do i need as far as hardware and software?
Thanks,
Curtis

First things first...
Mac or PC?
If it's a Mac you have, then GarageBand is about as simple as it gets.
You can buy 1/4" to 1/8" (headphone) cables to run into your line in.
M-Audio makes a fire wire interface for mixing mics and line ins.
That's all I got.
