Thanks for all the feedback on the last song I posted. Here is another one called What Will I Do? Since it is going on the internet it is an MP3...sorry, but I think it still sounds fine. Thanks again.

Not bad at all. I'm not too sure about the whisteling. As for the mix. Bass and vocals sound good but the drums need to be turned up quite a lot. I can barely hear them. I'm not a fan of how you recorded the guitar, I would have mic'd it rather recorded it direct.

The drums sound like a drum machine, what are you using?

Another great song. Another great recording...for an $80 program. It sounds like you are playing some kind of Taylor 12. Maybe 500 series? You were definetly using bronze strings. I thought you got a pretty good tone out of it; I'm not to big of a fan of Taylors. You had a comp. on the mix huh! I would mess with your release and attack, you could hear it breathing... but still it got the desired effect that you were going for. I love it....can't wait to see it live!

Thanks for the input. SPYPRO you hit it right on the money. I was playing a Taylor 555 with Bronze strings.... and yes I had a comp. on the mix, I'm going to go back and change it and try and improve it. Thanks again!

Hey, I liked it.. I liked the Paul Simon-esque theme.. or at least that is what it reminded me of.

I thought the guitar part could've used better inflection in the playing. I really find it hard to get into. Ya know, you play all the notes, but it is just hard to groove with. I think it is mostly the accenting relationship between the two guitars.. perhaps if you panned them more to opposing sides. Once the percussion is in, it is fine.

I think the guitars were in the mix too heavy. I think if you backed them off, then you would have a decent mix between everything. As spypro mentioned, I especially hear the compressor on the drums.

On the whole, the recording is sonically heavy. There is too much reverb on everything. I would say as a starting place, you should cut the reverb back like to a 1/2 of what it is in length and like 10dB or more in volume. (With perhaps the vocals being an exception to that.)

Did you mix this yourself? If you did this all yourself, then I think you have good potential. But, it sounds like a lot of recordings by amatuers in that they think a "good mix" comes from a mix of "good tracks" when in reality, you must sacrifice what some tracks sound like solo'd to make the whole sound less heavy.

Alright, that's my wisdom for the day. Anyways, good job. 5 stars.

Yeah, I agree. I liked your other song (feel this way) better. I think that you could back off on the verb.... but you really need to highpass the verb around 6.3K. I don't think that was a drum machine, because I can hear different tones comig from the drums.

Yeah, it wasn't a drum machine. My brother is a kick ass drummer, and we recorded him playing drums.

I'll try that highpass as well.

How, I loved it. The "Sons and Daughters" part kind of sounded like a rip off of that DMB song.... whichever one that turned into Dont Drink the Water. I also think you went overboard with vocal affects that took away from the song. But the song: I loved! Way to go man, you rock.
