most of them do, and if they don't they at least say that hes a great musician unlike you're idiot ass that knows "theory" and blows at the guitar...man whats the good in knowing the theory of music if you cant even play it?

If anyone can say that Dave Matthews isnt a great musician.. much less "a not very good one".. and keep a straight face.. theyre a better man then I. Thats like saying Walter Payton wasn't a very good Running back. The man revolutionized the Guitar, and his lyric writing is absolutley mind-blowing. Not to mention the fact that he takes songs which were written to include Violin, Sax, Drums, and Bass and converts them to 2-acoustic sets... Yes, the man is an absolutley amazing musician. Anyone who can look someone in the eye and say "Dave Matthews insn't a very good musician" should set down his instrument, Walk away, and never play music again. Ever.

revolutionized guitar??? umm...not exactly...everyone see's some chord they don't see typically and think dave made it up...so much of his stuff has been used before. you ever heard of the police??? go listen to them and listen to their song structures, then get back to me, ok? dave really isn't original as some of you may think, and though he does write some amazing lyrics, not everything he does is golden...I won't even touch everyday, but what in the heck is up with What Would You Say??? "I was there when the bear ate his hair, thought it was a candy..." Stellar. Newsflash!!! Dave isn't the only guy out their who writes good lyrics! Many of his songs are based on other people's writings as well...the name of the author slips my mind, but many of Dave's songs are inspired by this unnamed authors writings. Dave would be the first one to tell you he really isn't as original and amazing as half of you people make it out to be, and it's not just because he's humble...he's just not a ridiculously overzealous fan like some people such as our friend Jason. Now, of course me saying this means that I think Dave is an awful musician and terrible songwriter, so yeah, rip me up and live in dreamworld...

good morning all. Dave said himself in an interview, that their music is "as old as hell, and that maybe we just look like freaks and people think its new" or something like that, anyway. ok, so maybe Dave didn't revolutionize the guitar, but he is a major influence on the next generation of acoustic players. and even that musician friend of yours said that DMB had a worldclass rhythm section. world class means the best at what they do, so Dave is one of the best rhythm players in the world. right?
