john mayer is a joke he doesnt even write his own songs, he's a good guitarist and all. And now he's working with Kanye West, bad idea on Kanye's part, who is much more creative than John

btw, john mayer wrote the majority of his own music...thats more of a rumor than anything...he obviously had help w/his band but the majority of room for squares was done by himself...heavier things (more like shitty things) is a cd that was probably written by a band of wild apes...wow, what junk..but oh well, room for squares is an incredible cd and deserves every recognition it recieved...he needs to drop the electric guitar!

You aren't serious, are you?
Go get his concerts from 28. and 29. of December 2004, and change your mind.

John started and did his best work on the electric, which is what the above people were referring to. The problem with HT had nothing to do with what type of guitar he used, it had to do with the MTV songwriting and complete departure from what made him a good musician.

But he used the electric mainly in Heavier Things. He used acoustic in almost all of room for squares. I was thinking they were hating the electric because of his crappy writing in Heavier Things.

this has turned too quickly into a John Mayer thread

i sucked at explaining myself...him on an electric is good...like in AGS w/lenny>man on the side..thats a jam...but what i meant was drop the electric guitar referring to HT...i didn't dig that album at all..amazingly, all i liked was only heart and daughters, nearly everything else is garbage...sorry for the confusion.
