Alright, so i have lyrics, and i have the music, but all my lyrical melody lines sound the same, hackneyed and plain, what can i do to feel like im mixing it up a little?

I know what that's like :/ John Mayer actually gave me this idea when he came to my school to give a songwriting clinic. He said to record the music, and then loop a section and keep singing over it in different ways. over and over and over, it may take a while but sooner or later you'll find something that just fits.

just an idea :) good luck with it!
