heres the lyrics:
"fortune cookie rambler" is someones nickname

Fortune cookie rambler
traveling town to town
seeing if his stories made the news
oh im sorry boy youre just too young

she always waits for him on the edge of town
fortune dont come around today
i wonder where he might be,
she says i dont mind at all

folksingers and poets they are all dressed down
oh i love it so when they come to town
old tv sets all worn out

Red rusted shoes and roots torn up
left out to dry untill next year
oh they got that lovely lovely sun here

Fortune cookie rambler donw by the riverside
says hes tired of being young all his life
oh im so tired im gonna drown myself tonight

down through the canyon she runs says my love
fortune cookie rambler i aint gonna let you drown anyday

and as the word travels town, running round
when he gets home hes all locked out
rain falling down on his head

20 odd years thats where I be
oh my love traveling town to town
see ive been told, ive been loved
ive been stole all my life away

I got my red rusted shoes
i got my roots torn up
ive had my stories sold
my loves been told
but if i would have known
i wouldnt have sold my youth away

i really like the rhythem, but theres something about the singing thats just... erm.. off, i dont mean to offend, it kinda sounds like your struggling to get all the words in, your singing too fast, kinda talking too, i dunno, i might be the only one who thinks that... maybe slow it down and sing it more? i dunno, good song though

maybe it's purposeful. he is, after all, the fortune cookie rambler, hm? ;) but we'll let the crafter speak.

yea i do kinda hurry the way i speak, and tend to mumble. Im trying to get into the folky storytelling style of songs where they kinda talk/sing? sorta like greg brown-

Oh yea, i like your avatar too! :D

what do you guys think of the other instruments(mando, and slide). I kinda mixed them low, I thought they might be distracting, were they?
my mando gets off timing a couple places

Great stuff juineaux...

Like you said the mando was slightly off at some points but it sounded good..
Lyrics are pretty damn cool! :D
The 'red rusted shoes part'.......sounded like 'I got my red rocks and shoes, i got my.....' :D Was damn cool.

Excellent stuff, you've got your own sound which is hard to find nowadays. :D
