here is a song i'm working on, it's pretty much complete, i just gotta add the vocals, but i need some opinions on what you think.....

i'm posting two versions of the almost finalized product, one with an electric guitar solo and another with a solo i did on my keyboard.....tell me which one you like more and what you think of the song in general.

it would be a lot better without the electric guitar fills in my opinion...electric guitar in an acoustic only song don't work well to begin with, but even so, I just don't think it's the right sound...and I don't like either of the solos much either...it could be because it needs a band, but to me I never think electric fits well with just an acoustic guitar...especially if it's not an ultra clean electric. the song is pretty cool, but in my opinion I think you ought to rethink your fills and both solos...

version 1: sounds like John Mayer. sort of. maybe cause you're playing 7th chords or 9th chords or whatever they are. The petal stuff is cool but I don't think it fits extremely well with the acoustic rhythm parts. I don't mind electric fills over acoustic stuff as long as it's clean and not to crazy with effects. Be sure to finish this one, eh? it sounds good.

version 2: same as above, except that I like this keyboard solo, more than the electric solo. just my .02 bucks

peace,
Ken
good, and you?

Sounds good my man. Thats some serious talent. Just needs some good vocals. You can almost hear them. Actually I take back saying it sounded good, it sounded fricken awesome. I played it like 5 times and am now trying to figure out the chords.
Jam on!
