What the hell happened to the poll? I've administered and used phpBB quite a bit and have never seen this happen. Oh well.

Anyway, I think everyone that entered should be commended cuz each and every one of you did a great job. Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed Fatjack's full band version. That was sweet! However, since we are to base our vote strictly on guitar playing and singing ability I have to give the top three to:

1 - Trippinhillbilly - You get my vote! Overall - I think you have the best performance. Your voice is really awesome. You just seem very comfortable when performing.
2 - Firedancer86 - Hey man...runner-up is not bad, especially considering the company. Anyway, I think perhaps you're guitar playing is the best. However there's some weird string buzzing from 3:20 to 4:24. Your voice, as always, is excellent. How old are you again?
3 - Daroou - Another awesome overall performance. I like your voice a lot and I know you said you sang your heart out, but it still sounds like you're holding back a bit. I think it's equivalent to both Fire's and Trippin's, but it seems like Trippin's more relaxed. His singing seems so effortless. Perhaps the recording didn't do your voice justice though.

Awesome job everybody!

Thanks, man! Yeah, well in terms of singing my heart out, I know I did that mostly at the end. To be honest, it took me a while to record this song because I kept screwing up whenever I thought about my guitar playing, so I decided to pull up the lyrics and concentrate on them instead of my playing. So for most of the song, I'm reading the lyrics. Near the end, though, I gave up on reading and just closed my eyes and... well, you know :)

Anyway, thanks for the comments! Much appreciated!

You freakin' blow me away then dude!

At 16 I was struggling through learning Skynyrd's Simple Man on my old crappy Peavy strat copy. I'm almost 30 and I'll probably never sound as good as you.

Keep at it. You'll definitely go somewhere with the music thing...

Only 16!! Man, that's unbelievable! I started playing when I was older than you! I was 17 and now I'm 23 - but I could only dream of ever being that good, man! Were you classically trained? Tell us a bit about how you spent your years learning to play, I'm very curious to know...

Man.. Difficult decision. Overall, I'd say that I'm leaning towards firedancer's version with Trippinhillbilly as a close second. Fatjack and his band did a good job too. Everybody sounded awesome.

Also, Billywestom's voice was very unique. I can see lots of potential.

Edit: My mistake. I had the two mixed up (they do sound similar). I'm learning towards Trippinhillbilly with firedancer has a close second. Sorry for any inconvenience.
