i know, i know, most of these are number (im an un-original sonofabitch)

#6

Code: Select all

One thought still racing;
After all these long dreary night;
Only thought worth embracing;
Within my darkness shines one light.

Nothing has come easy;
This one world spinning;
So much revolving around fantasy;
Wondering what holds in this new beginning.

Chorus:

Verse 2:

Fire dancers prance around gold;
Deep wells of blue;
A perfect match to the perfect mold;
Emotions revolving around you.

A black pearl in sand;
Or a diamond in the rough;
Which I’d like to hold in my hand;
A sight not beheld enough.

Chorus}

Verse 3:

Piercing blue eyes;
Golden halos waving;
Flying high in divided skies;
Last soul worth saving.

Wings soaring in the heavens;
While staying so grounded;
Voices of sirens;
By which I’m still astounded.

Chorus}
#6 (Newer Version) [kind of a counting crows sortof feel]

Code: Select all

And she’s standing there
All alone on the corner
No one there to comfort her

She doesn’t want to come in
She’ll just do it by herself
I wish shed let me help her out
But the only thing shell let me do is watch

Chorus:
So let me help you out a little
Come inside its cold out, and you need a friend
I’m worried what might happen to you if you keep going,
Its not my place I admit it.

Verse 2:

She never wants anything from anybody else,
The vultures are circling,
But she’ll just run away in hide until she’s all alone.

And I can’t help but realize,
That deep inside those deep blue eyes,
There’s something that captivates me to this day.

Chorus

Verse 3:
Told me its pointless to help her,
Cause in the end all shell do is runaway.
Says shell run away to a place late at night
In the rain to wait for me to find her in the dark.

I cant wait too much longer,
But your love will make me stronger,
Ill miss you when your found.

Chorus

Outro verse

Someday well meet again and
Maybe you’ll let me help you then,
And if not there the offer still remains.

Chorus 2x
Life

Code: Select all

These strange beats running' through my head;
New rhythmic words playing throughout;
Overwhelming the bright light ahead;
These sounds I can't live without;

As I fall back into this world;
This book before me is no longer important;
All my thoughts on that one special girl;
I've tried but she’s the only thought my mind will grant.

I take a look at my life;
And wonder what else it could have been;
Knowing its not alright;
My only answers come from within.

It’s all been good so far;
But everything seems to rise and fall all the time;
Leaving a deep and burning scar;
Being an individual is now a crime.

This time is going so fast;
And I ask what it’s all worth;
If this life is one big play and we're the cast;
Then how is Broadway more famous than earth?

We live these short lives, with no chance to go back;
Deciding to live like a fool seems stupid at its best;
The normal life has come under attack;
Almost like the average are the only not possessed.

Once it's over what people think is it;
You can’t change your stupid ways to make it better;
The hard times all of us will submit;
But it’s nothing that can't be written in a letter.

But the music keeps playing;
The emotions are still sought;
Bands still aimlessly babbling;
Beautiful rhymes filled with distraught.

Genres of people crowding the streets;
A silver curb on every corner;
Everyday the same scene repeats;
Everyone a singer, everyone a listener.
Warehouse

Code: Select all

 #9
(Warehouse)

In my warehouse there are skeletons in every room;
Every memory has a black taint;
Decisions not made, and questions not answered.

In my warehouse sounds are carried like a tomb;
Every moth with a solemn complaint;
Writing on the wall deeply engraved.

In my warehouse fortunes are faded;
Destiny turns to dust;
As the lights are turned out.

In my warehouse everyone leaves jaded;
All with a shred less of trust;
With a credit more of doubt.

In my warehouse the doors have remained open;
With visitors from time to time;
Nobody leaves impressed.

In my warehouse no one becomes shapen;
Not a care inside, not a reason or rhyme;
My warehouse is a place I detest.

In my warehouse the doors are now closed;
Never to reopen until the damage has gone;
But a deep burning scar is as far as the eye can see.

In my warehouse the contents are now exposed;
A feeling leaving me withdrawn;
All that’s left of my warehouse is scattered debris.

Ashley's song

Code: Select all

The one Ashley liked allot
(#13)

The rain clouds wont go away,
April as it seems wont become may,
All that is good and pure in this life,
Is now tainted and filled with strife.

The blood in my veins feel blue,
And ice cold as I see you.
The thought of it is not hard,
All these emotions remain barred.

What was far away I could not hold,
Now it’s here and the heat is cold.
It’s hard to be around you,
Because I know my love is true.

Everyday with you, talking in the night,
All this time together hardly seems right.
Emotions keep turning,
As my stomach is churning.

Not all in this life is just,
But you’ll always have my trust.
This love is never ending,
And I say with emotions ascending.

I love you like no other.

#16

Code: Select all

I just want to fall,
Fall back into oblivion,
Into a black well of nothingness,
But its 4:33 and I’m lying in bed.

I’m sleeping in nothingness,
And it is what I want,
But in 4 hours I have to stop falling.

I wake up to the light,
And all that I have,
I realize I’m lucky,
And that I can’t take it with me.

None of us can leave with what we have,
We work and slave for wealth and glory,
And leave it all behind when were gone.

We leave what is earned,
We take what is given,
We lose all our memories,
And leave how we started.

With nothing,
But our spirits,
And what god has given us.
Emotions

Code: Select all

Our emotions can’t be held at bay;
We must confront this fear;
Someday we will get our way;
We can’t tolerate this not anymore not here.

Nothing will stop us then;
We can roam free;
Unstoppable over and over again;
And that o can guarantee.

We would fly high like a mockingbird;
The work would pay off;
And not be this theatre of the absurd;
We could truly takeoff.

We will be free to fulfill ourselves;
We can show true potential.
Instead of the best resting on a shelf;
The exhibition of skill has never been more essential.
Make Me

Code: Select all

Verse 1:
Make me what I need to be
Because I can’t do it myself
Show me what I need to see,
I can’t see past this wealth
Change me in ways unseen
Write for me
Make me any being
I will become what you need to be

Chorus:
Save me from within
I can’t live in the dark
The room I live in is dim
Take me from here
Ill become what you like

Verse 2:
Take my art, make it yours
Go away, make me leave
I’ll listen to you
I must be saved from this grief
Make me true
Only you can help me
Make me what I need to be

Chorus:

If I fall into your arms
Catch me don’t let go
Save me from this
Make me into whatever you please
Fire On The Mountain

Code: Select all

Fire on the Mountain

There’s fire on the mountain,
Secrets will be told,
Betrayal will become knowledge,
Leaving but a pile of ash.

The fire goes out,
The sky turns grey,
The smoke clears to a pink,
And remains smolder away into dust.

The rain comes pouring down,
Lightning and thunder crash overhead in anger,
The world is ending and all I can do Is watch,
I see the anger engulf life.

I hear nothing,
The hatred crashes the windows,
The trees fight and sway,
And all is still.
Where Will I Stand

Code: Select all

Where will I stand?
In a dark sea of people,
Will I just be one in a million,
Or will I stand on the front lines.

I know ill be remembered fondly,
But will I live up to my memory.
Ill see all of you,
And miss most everything.

I stayed in there for two years,
Me and her stayed for another 30 minutes,
We’ll keep in touch,
We wont forget.

We’ll stay around,
Hang around,
But damn I'll miss it all,
Everyday of my life.

He says we’ll forget him,
We know we wont,
730 days doesn’t end and then be forgotten,
I’ve been touched.

Man, I wont change,
I’ll just get better,
I’ll see you sometime man,

Keep in touch,
Take care of yourself,
You too,
I’ll miss you man,
Eh, I’ll just be a memory in a year,

No, you wont.
Rain Dances

Code: Select all

Set your soul free,
Let it dance in the wind,
As I play in the rain.

Let the rain approach you,
As your soul dances away,
Ben engulfed in music.

Let the rain encircle you, let it drench me,
Ill play while your spirit dances,
Off into the wind.

As the wind dies down and the rain moves on,
Ill stop playing,
And our spirits will go celebrate together.

We’ll dance into the sunset,
And when the rain comes back and the wind picks up,
Ill sing and play for you,

So that your spirit can be free.

I think you're a pretty decent writer, especially for being fourteen. You're on the right track and better than I was at 14. Heh. Let me see if I can help you out, here:

"Set your soul free,
Let it dance in the wind,
As I play in the rain."

Sometimes things might sounds good, but they're actually quite cliche (don't want to get out char. map) and cliche things really don't have too much impact on the reader/listener. "Dance on/in the wind" and the reference to setting your soul free, letting go and all has been played out too much as well. Try to find new ways to say these things to make it more interesting.

"Let the rain approach you,
As your soul dances away,
Ben engulfed in music."

One thing you should start asking yourself is: "Is this redundant?" Try not to repeat the same words or ideas in each stanza...again, to keep it interesting. It's easy to replace words, too, in this language; we have so many synonyms. Heh.

"Let the rain encircle you, let it drench me,
Ill play while your spirit dances,
Off into the wind."

Again, the reduntantness. Oh, and also try not to just come out and say things. Being blatant in songwriting is synonymous with being bland. Try to not give away the whole picture all at once. Instead, try to just mention some detail that'll strongly hint at what you're talking about.

"As the wind dies down and the rain moves on,
Ill stop playing,
And our spirits will go celebrate together."

Along with not trying to be blatant, be creative as well. Try a few metaphors here and there.

"We’ll dance into the sunset,
And when the rain comes back and the wind picks up,
Ill sing and play for you,
So that your spirit can be free."

One last thing: when you think you're done, you're not. Go back over a song perhaps every few days and see if you'd like to change anything. If you can't for a month or so, I'd say it's damn close to as good as it will get, and you can call it done. Just don't ever "close the book," if you will.

Yeah, I think that's about all I have to offer you for now. Try to really consider those things and use them. Good luck, man.
