New Song and a question about bands

Unread post by juineaux » Wed Apr 23, 2003 7:35 pm

Hey, I got a new mic today and decided to put up a song. I just improvised a blues riff I had been working on. Tell me what you think-
try to ignore the awfulness of my voice, ive been sick for 3 weeks.

Edit:

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

ive told you before dude, love your stuff. unfortunately no one on this board records loud enough for me to hear everything even on max volume, but i can hear the guitar. i hear you singing but cant make anything out. maybe my speakers are messed up. thats all i need. :( anyway, cool stuff.

Hey thanks :D
Shane- sorry about the volume level I recorded it quickly and forgot to raise the levels before I put it up.

Im going to re-record this song, along with alot my other songs next week with a new drummer and hopefully my voice will be back by then. I also just finnished my fretless bass, so there is going to be some interesting songs coming up soon.

I changed the song at the top to something better. I didnt like my vocals on that too much, this song is an instrumental(for now), but it will have some cool vocals once im feeling a little better-
tell me what you think of it?

Hey all, i have a weird situation:
I asked a bass player if he would like to be in band where we play originals in a DMB/john mayer sorta style. He said yes, and then later he emailed me and said that we should make it a ska band and I should play electric instead of acoustic. Im all for trying new things, but this really dosnt sound like me at all. what do you think I should do?

Don't decide on a genre before you start a band. I think it'd be better to play how your two styles compliment each other the best.

imho, your style seems to totally conflict with this type (ska) of music. maybe you could try it and it would work out...but maybe not, so you will wish you didnt waste the time....but then again you might kick yourself for not trying it. tough decision. if you feel you are doing well with what you are playing now, you probably shouldnt change
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...
