Check out my cover of The Maker using Pro Tools

Unread post by cpowell747 » Wed Jun 23, 2004 8:06 pm

I just got a Pro Tools system in my house and tried it out on The Maker. It was just a test run to see if I could figure out how to record something using Pro Tools. Let me know how it sounds. Have mercy on the song though, I screwed up the end of it. Thanks!

I'd have to say that's a pretty damn good cover overall. The Dm - C part of the verse sounded a little rushed and off rhythm sometimes. Great vocals, you've got a really strong voice.

That's a really good cover.
I gotta say that your voice reminds me of that soups guy from the bridge.
Except I think your voice sounds better.
I might go download some more of your covers.

That was smooth...I'm not intricately familiar with "The Maker", but I thought it was solid. Question: Was that you singing "Typical Situation"? It sounds like someone else.

Anyway, I liked your bio, cool story. I wish I would have got into open mic nights. I still have two more years of school to get involved in that kind of atmosphere so I might start soon. It takes a lot of commitment and courage to take the steps that you've taken, at least in my eyes. Keep up the good work...peace

Thanks for the replys everybody! To answer Blue Waters question, the guy singing Typical Situation is not me. It is my friend Deuce. He is also the one playing the lead guitar parts on some of the songs. To hear more of his stuff go to http://www.southporterband.com

I checked out several of your songs and I gotta say they sounded great. You actually inspired me to learn a few of those songs I didn't know after hearing them sound that good solo. Thanx

hey man, I think your music is improving more and more. I'm pretty sure I remember when you started posting but it's gotten a LOT better since then. "The Maker" was really good, you're voice was even and I thought you did a really worthy cover.

keep rockin'
