9 years or so... I started really young and have had different spurts in which I really "grow"...all the rest of the time I just try to polish what I have so far...all by ear, but I think I want to get some real theory under my belt...

About 10 years. I took 3 years off at one point to have a kid and get married. I started playing frequently again about 2 years ago after I found this site

Six months. Thinking about throwing up a cover. How does watchtower sound.
"I gots a big ol' chunky butt
I love my big ol' chunky butt"

"When you see something like that, you call it MR. Johnson"

If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then give up. There's no use being a damn fool about it.

1.5 years and I still completely suck. During that time there were week long breaks, times I did play were not long. This semester I really tried to give it a lot of time but have been busy too. :( So all together I would say a consistent 6 months. :) One of these days I might be good.

i can do those too, but i can also pull off satellite, working on R&R, DIDO, and some of those other fun things. its funny, theres this one kid i was talking to tonight whose been playing a bit over a year and i told him about playing satellite on my 12 string and hes like 'oh man youre so fricken awesome...' - i constantly practice. no lessons whatsoever. in fact im going to be giving lessons soon. nothin special, chords, strumming, maybe some fingerpicking, etc.. good stuff
