Pretty good song. My critique you can take as my opinion or helpful, whichever you choose... I think that at some points, vocally, your tone was off a bit, it seemed to be when you carry some higher notes. I've noticed in some songs I've played, originals or covers, that I just unnecessarily capo them to accomidate my voice and it works great for those higher notes while also giving you a bit of a break on the normal parts. Maybe this is lazy, but it's a solution. Now this isn't to say that your voice isn't good, I actually think some parts were carried over very well, but your own opinion will confirm or not confirm what I'm noticing.
The only other thing would be that the tempo was all over the place, intentionally of course, but sometimes if you mess around a lot with the tempo it can be irritating or even make you lose the original tempo you were trying to get back to. In my opinion, I think you should have ended the song with the faster part as an outro or else ditched it and kept the slow ending (which was really great too), but I wouldn't use both.
Overall though, pretty good song. It's like you were saying though, and like Dave usually does things, you're in constant editing of your songs to make them better, add something cool and creative, or just trying new things. Keep up the good work.

DISCLAIMER: This was my opinion, I'm sure I could use some critiquing myself. Hit me back if you could...
