James , bear with me because I am probably going to repeat what some of the others said:

The rhythm did sound off to me in the fact that it was not consistant within each part of the song, if you know what I mean. You hesistated sometimes as you did the 3XX4 slide up to the 5XX6 in the Intro and Chorus...I know because it is one of the problems I have with the song.

The Verse sounded forced to me..it needs to be more fluid. Easy for me to say because I can't do that part yet (haven't really got around to it yet). You have it all there though, just needs refinement.

My suggestion would be to slow it down, and practice for fluidness and consistancy of rhythm...and then gradually speed it up to where you want it.

The voice sounds a little off key (slightly flat). You may not be aware of this so just keep it in the back of your mind while you sing. But hey, you can sing and play at the same time...something I can't do yet unless I am just playing straight rhythm guitar. :(

Sounds to me that you got it all there, just a little tightening up and... 8)

Look forward to getting together somtime and jamming :)

It seems like I can fix a lot of the playing parts with time, but how do I stop singing flat and more in key? Should I listen to something, take lessons or just start playing out of key?

here's what helps me: sing and play with the song until you are SICK of it. that way it's in your head, adn little sound cues will remind you where to sing :)

As far as the voice thing goes, I don't know if someone can correct singing out of key just by themselves. The reason, I am thinking, is that one may "hear" themselves as being in key when they actually are out of key. I believe they need some kind of coaching, or third party, to bring it to their attention when they are off key...and help them sing the correct note...then the singer can recognize what the note should sound like in their own voice. (the correct note, in the singers own voice, will probably sound off to the singer...but they can at least be aware of it).

Does that make sense? :?
