"Sattelite" and "Tripping Billes" covers, me likes
You shouldn't have been hiding them! BTW, you picked up a guitar only 8 months ago???? I can really tell now hearing all the songs that you are putting in lot's of practice and effort. You are doing great for that short of a time. Yowsa. I still would like to hear your voice without the Dave"isms" though. Good work overall man.

Hey I thought this might help you a bit in the vocal direction of "Crash" Take a listen of the poster Chris Powell's rendition
http://www.cpowellonline.com/
Notice that he sings it higher when it's needed but also brings it lower at the appropriate time. I think that would help out your cover quite a bit. I understand the comfort zone of singing in a certain key, I used to try it safer but then I discovered in my case I'm told I sound similar to John Mayer so... I try my best to change up the vocals to bring something a little different to the table.
Hey if you wouldn't mind, turn the tables a bit and give a listen to my quickie version of "Why did you mess with forever" and tell me if you liked anything about it or just wanted to clean your ears out after. :p

Crash was amazing, whoever mentioned james taylor was dead on...great guitar on billies, the vocal rhythm was off a little on parts of the chorus, but individual touches aint nothing to get rid of...I didnt notice the dave imitating thing on crash at all, I thought it was there a little on billies...maybe it's because that song jumps aound in pitch so much. anyways, two sweet covers overall.
P.S. Critique mine if you could pls

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

I'd say stop trying to sound like Dave. It sounds like you're Jimmy Fallon doing a bad impression of Dave. I probably sound like an asshole, as usual, but don't take this in a bad way. I would say you have a lot of potential if you actually have only been playing for 8 months, and to develp your own voice. Guitar is pretty good, but keep practicing.

yes, closing in on 9 months now. I think when ever i sing to anyones song, whether its Sarah Mclachlan or 50Cent (kind of a joke, but not really) i try to sound like them. I'm pretty sure i know what my real voice is, but i could be wrong... still searching.
