American Baby (full band instrumental)

Unread post by SockCymbal » Fri May 08, 2009 12:00 am

Here is a rough version of my twist on American Baby. Let me know if you like the guitar intro or not...I'm leaning towards scratching it at the moment. Once I get everything the way I want it, I'll make a music video of it...

Enjoy!

Sounds pretty good man. I think it'd be better with vocals though

really good, man. quality recording, too.

some notes:

definitely scratch the intro, or at least the length at which you have it.

the delay effect you have on the nylon string is uber cheesy and should be taken out. i actually thought the nylong string section was sub par compared to everything else. this could be remedied by implementing a more structured section with harmonies, or playing more within your skill level perhaps. the one dead giveaway of an amateur guitarist is that he or she tries to play out of his/her skill level. this is where you find the mistakes in timing, intonation, etc. they simply can't play want they wish they could. i know i'm going off on a tangent here, and i don't think your guitar solo was bad at all, but i think it is a valuable point to be made.

sorry for what was most likely a pretentious, condescending critique of your damn good recording.

i can't play drums.

thanks for the feedback pat. which delay effect are you talking about? Are you referring to the intro solo or solo during the first chorus? there is no delay in the intro, just a bit of reverb (maybe too much). guitar is my weakest instrument, so I think all of your criticism is correct.

This is sweet! The only complaint I have is the intro it seems long and dragged out, I almost stopped listening half way through the opening. Just shorten it a notch, other then that, its awesome!!!!
