and i realize that "from the studio" comment makes me seem like some jackass-pseudo-musician, and i didn't mean that. sorry.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": As long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll.

Oboe? Jackass-pseudo-musician!

That was incredible. I really love the textures you've chosen in your arrangement and the mix is great so far. I think it needs to go somewhere though. There is build up but no pay off, all foreplay... you get what I'm saying.

If it were me i would build on your cellos that come in towards the end of the song, add more noticeable drums and bring those oboes (or whatever they are) back in and jam this out a bit.

Really good though, great vocals and harmonies.
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

i can totally see what you're saying. a lot of my music is about the build, or the experience, lets say, rather than the climax. i'm not at all justifying it or saying that it's a good thing - in fact, i think it's a detriment and something i need to overcome. unfortunately, i won't be adding anything except xylophone to this track which might make it a bit more complete. i'll be doing some further editing with the track (taking some elements out at the bridge section) to add a more complete dynamic to the track.

anyway, thank you very much for your input. i really do appreciate it.

(clarinets, by the way. i possess nowhere near the amount of talent needed to play the oboe.)

Just listened to the track. It sounds fantastic. I don't post on this board very much, but I absolutely had to congratulate you on a great sound. Thank you for sharing!
