It’s quiet now and I’d venture to say
That I’m the only one awake
For miles
She’s on my mind, I feel her fragile frame
If I were in dreams it’d be just the same, so I
Toss and turn a while

I feel compelled to apologize
And I don’t mean to dramatize
It’s those tears in your eyes
That I can’t shake
See the bottom of another glass
And my time is fading fast
But to pray this love will last
I stay awake

Time goes by and the imminent light
Reminds me of all that is right with
You and I
Making a list of the things I'd do
If we could start anew, and once again I
Rehearse these lines

I feel compelled to apologize
And I don’t mean to dramatize
It’s those tears in your eyes
That I can’t shake
See the bottom of another glass
And my time is fading fast
But to pray this love will last
I stay awake
Appreciate the listen. Any comments/critiques also appreciated.
-Brian

Man, this is sad

I really like how underscored the guitar is, your vocal is definitely good enough to carry the song. Well done

I think this is REALLY REALLY good. Kind of a Ryan Adams acoustic with amazing vocals.

I agree it might get a bit better with more harmonies, or probably a strong part.

Many thanks for the comments, gents.

I agree that it could benefit from some harmonies but I've never been able to add my own harmonies without it sounding way too forced. I also think some violin would complete this song but yeah, I've never even picked up a violin.

Vocals are strong as always..

Solid song.

Great job and thanks for sharing..

I saw you mention some violin, I don't know if you play piano at all, but SampleTank does a decent job imitating instruments if you get into midi at all...
