Unread post by dmbguitar718 » Sun Feb 15, 2009 10:24 pm

an original song. this is a recording of a jam session i had with my friend, on drums. it lags a lot in the beginning, because i was fumbling with gear. still getting used to it.

would like to have heard more bass drum work from your drummer, he was very boring

you sound good though, vocals are very Yorke-ish

thanks. i've begun to notice some timbric (can i make that a word?) similarities between yorkes voice and my own. i don't mean to claim that my voice is near his calibur (and it definitely isn't in this recording), but they do sound similar i've noticed.

well, i dont know if this is the same thing as timbric, but you take a complex melody or percussion and float along it in a near falsetto with long drawn out words, and bam you have 80% of all radiohead songs

ha, right. but no, timbre is the sonic quality of a sound. ie how a clarinet sounds different than a violin, and a french horn different than a english horn.

I like this a lot, Pat.

What's in your gear closet?

oh, i have no idea. my friend is the president of the studio here at school, and he's recording my ep. i know we used dp to record it, and a shure for my vox, but beyond that, it was over my head.
