Buy the Truth (original)

Unread post by Banjobach » Mon Sep 01, 2008 9:09 pm

Hello hello.
I finished writing this one earlier today so I decided to post it up. It's alot of fun to play. Let me know what you think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eOxD3R0JzA

Here are the lyrics:
Step into my life
It's empty, so vacant, so grand
All these things of mine
They're priceless, they're precious, they're hollow

I have halls, I have rooms
They're empty, so empty, so empty
Ornate walls, custom clothes
They're not me, they're not me

Welcome to my life
It's empty, so vacant, so grand
All these things I own
They own me, they own me

I see endless catalogs
I would walk away in a minute
I hear myself say
Set it free, buy the truth

See my journals, see my chairs
They're empty, so empty, so empty
All these pages boxed away
They go nowhere

I see endless "How's your day"
I would walk away in a minute
I hear myself say
Set it free, buy the truth

Take this house, I'm almost home
Take these things, I'm almost home
Tell my wife, I'm almost home
Tell her now, I'm almost home
All my life I'm going home

Thanks ahead of time.

By far my favorite post by you. Dig it, good job. What kind of looper are you using? I had that Green one Howie Day uses, let a friend borrow it and that was that :)

I have a big problem with you Zach and its pissing me off, seriously this shit is getting old. You keep posting your stuff over and over on youtube and I can't get it on my ipod. Just in case you didn't see through the sarcasm... I really liked this tune as well as alot of your other stuff. Keep posting, and start making mp3's damn it

Zach, good stuff as always. This is definitely one of my very favorites you've done! Nice use of the loop, great playing, amazing voice.

Thanks everyone.
To answer your question Austin, I used a boss RC-20 loopstation along with a channel switcher and an equalizer so I could run my mic through my loopstation and loop the shaker. Also I had a dd-7 on my mic to do the occasional echo effect. I've seen Howie's setup and it's fricken involved. It's a little too complicated for me. I think i've posted this before but here's my setup

I love my looper. It's practically another instrument for me. They're loads of fun. You need to get your hands on one again.

And to ut4ever8
 Sorry. I just updated my soundclick so that you can download all of my songs. I still need to rerecord a few. To download, click the down arrow

(The new song is title "welcome to my life" on that page.
Thanks Klondog for the kind words as well. I'm trying to keep writing. It's always good to have support. Thanks guys

I enjoyed that, lyrics are strong and the theme is just up my ally...enjoyed the looping, never fooled with it myself but that is cool.
