I don't have Idioteque for you yet...
And why? Because I have to perform four different plays in six weeks, two at a time, so hush yourself.
Ironically, I have had time for this:
http://synergizement.com/music/transport.mp3
Transport (or, I Left My Lover On A Rocketship) [working title].
transport -- follow me
"we came to this?"
and you put a soul to rest
you look so weary-eyed
these are bottles, not lollipops
"don't sleep, you--!"
she said goodbye?
"who's that?"
i've forgotten
there are a million
there are a million
(there are a million stars
and you will never be one)

I was going to add a summary of the lyrics meaning here, but decided not to, despite all your complaints of my lyrical ambiguity.

Re: ....
I've turned the guitars back to acoustics, added a horn section to the latter choruses, etc. I'm going to totally rerecord the vocals in a better space, methinks -- to much reverb in my apartment, and it made them sound really hollow.AustinG wrote:I likes the idea. The vocals are pretty solid.... I'm not crazy about the simple guitar rhythm in the beginning.. Other than that, good synth work again...

- Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": As long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll.
I think the vocals are a bit overdone. The reverb makes them blend too much. The doubling is nice, but again overdone. It would have a much bigger impact if you saved the effects for lines that you really want to stand out. kind of like when a poet changes the meter to throw the reader off and make them re read the line.
I really like the lyrics and that last line is absolutely devastating, well done!
killer track but tone down the reverb, echo, and doubled vocals. Try them straightforward, you may be suprised.

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

I'm done working on this song. A few notes are still off, but y'know... I'm sick of singing it. I like it though.
Reverbs almost completely gone. Some light flanger on a few of the backing vocals, but that's it. No horn section -- sorry Austin. And I went back to the acoustic. I might bust out the Les Paul and do a completely electric song later, but as for right now, there's only two electric parts -- the eighth note stacatto you hear and the part with the triple flanger, for that ambient vibe some of you abhor so much. As for horns, I tried it, sounded good but didn't fit the vibe. Instead... you get a synthesized organ via my Casio.

Big improvement with the reverb toned down on the verses, Like you said I could I only find a few notes off.. The more I listen to this I think I would like to hear it in a different key... try it and see what it sounds like...
I was waiting to hear that horn section, but I really Like the addition of the keys... Gives it a "Sufjan Stevens" feel to it..
Telephone,bells ringing were creative.
"these are bottles, not lollipops"? What's that about?
Good job, I can always count on something out of the ordinary from you. You're mixing/producing is getting better with every mix.
I'm working on something tracked out you're not going to expect from me, so keep your eye out

Thank ye, mate. That's an allusion to someone sucking down bottles one after the other -- as in, ease up, sober up. You've got your mouth on the bottle constantly, like it's a lollipop or something.AustinG wrote:

Very well, thank ye much! High marks, optimistic about making the cut. Now I need to find a job for the summer before I bounce a rent check.AustinG wrote:Ahh gotcha.. Thanks...
