Something a little different. Classic simple country tune by two heroes of mine. Hope you enjoy. Comments/critiques welcome and appreciated.

a long time forgotten are dreams that just fell by the way
the good life he promised ain't what she's living today
but she never complains of the bad times or the bad things he's done
she just talks about the good times they've had
and all the good times to come

she's a good-hearted woman in love with a good-timing man
she loves him in spite of his ways she don't understand
through teardrops and laughter they'll walk through this world hand in hand
she's a good-hearted woman loving a good-timing man

he likes the night life, the bright lights and his good-timing friends
and when the party's all over she'll welcome him back home again
lord, she don't understand him, but she does the best that she can
she's a good-hearted woman loving a good-timing man

she's a good-hearted woman in love with a good-timing man
she loves him in spite of his ways she don't understand
through teardrops and laughter they'll walk through this world hand in hand
she's a good-hearted woman loving a good-timing man

God Damn man! Your voice has never sounded stronger. It may just be the song selection but this is really good.

The more i listen...wow! Your voice seems to have deepened a bit or you are singing from deeper in your stomach.

Not a missed note on guitar or vocals. Absolutely perfect, no critiques.

Yes. Of the dozens and dozens of recordings I've done over the years, all of them have just been one track with mic and guitar. I can't seem to convince myself to sing with conviction if I'm not playing along on the guitar. I've often had the desire to get fancy and add some extra layers, especially since I play a little bit of piano and like to mess around on lead guitar from time to time, but I always end up being satisfied with the simplicity of a vocal backed by a single guitar.

The old country guys have always been the easiest/most natural for me to sing: Merle Haggard, George Strait, George Jones, Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and so on. Not sure if it's because I kind of grew up on that stuff or that's just my natural tone/style. Probably a bit of both.

I think a comment similar to this lead to us all posting our Hamlet orations. What does my appearance suggest I would sound like?

Anna Maria Island doesn't really have too many "bars." I play on occasion at the public beach cafe (Holmes Beach) right at the end of Route 64 and I've played a few times on the pier but they've since closed it down due to architectural reasons. Shoot me a PM when you're in town and maybe we can play some tunes at the cafe. If anything, you're welcome to drop by and shoot some pool and drink a few beers.
