So this isn't a home recording - my band hit up the studio

Unread post by afurth » Wed May 23, 2007 2:19 am

I know a lot of you guys on here have already heard my music. Well I just finished up work in the studio with my band out of Boston College. We did 5 songs for an EP and they came out great. I have the pre-mastered version of the first tune on the album streaming on our website and I'd love for you guys to take a listen (maybe it is as shitty as you think haha)

http://www.theprojectboston.com - should stream automatically when you go onto the site

Sounds great...! Excellent vocals. Only criticism is that maybe you should think about adding another instrument in there to give it some more flair. (Please no sax!)

Band is tight.. Dig the lead..drums are nice and tight.. bass gets the job done..... I have a hard time hearing your rhythm guitar.. Love the song and the bands breakdown at around 2:30

Now for the vocals. I'll give you an honest critique, don't take offense to it.

They're on, I didn't hear any spots off.. But they don't grab me, or wow me. The vibrato seems rushed.. You stay in your comfort zone and I'd like to really hear you take it up in some spots.... I keep waiting for it, but you stay.. Around 4 mins I thought you were going to do it and your voice started to break... do you smoke at all? I'd like to hear it up an octave and nail it...

Do you ever sing in Falsetto? Just wondering, not sure it would work with this song.. but maybe that's because I don't remember you going into it..

aww - just trying to give people a taste of different material. short skirt is fun, but never get enough is more true to our "sound" (though we like to dabble in many genres).

we put up another one - it streams automatically when you go there.

this one is a critique on the priorities of modern music and the industry. it's called "revolution" - a tip of the hat to the masters, the beatles, and its about our music creating a "new regime" in music that cares about content, diversity, and good musicianship.

i love how the lyrics ended up.
