Two Jazz Standards- Blue Bossa, Impressions
Two Jazz Standards- Blue Bossa, Impressions
I played an open mic with a few guys and the place taped our songs.
here is two in a single long mp3 (sorry about that)
The first tune is a classic latin tune called "Blue Bossa" the second is another performance of one I've posted on here before called "Impressions." I'm particularly proud of the first tune. there's a meltdown at the end of impressions, no one knew how to end it.

first one was definitely better... there was a part in the second song where i felt like the bass and lead guitar were kind of clashing. to be honest i don't really listen to much jazz but i do enjoy it occasionally. i would have liked to hear the drums get after it a little more, i love jazz percussion. overall i enjoyed it. is blugroov the name of your band?

Yeah. the bass was way too high in the mix. It isn't really my combo per se, but some guys who I play with. The trumpet player, though, does call it Blugroov.buffjam9011 wrote:first one was definitely better... there was a part in the second song where i felt like the bass and lead guitar were kind of clashing. to be honest i don't really listen to much jazz but i do enjoy it occasionally. i would have liked to hear the drums get after it a little more, i love jazz percussion. overall i enjoyed it. is blugroov the name of your band?
