Brand New - Luca (Reprise) Acoustic Cover

Unread post by Willin » Sun Apr 29, 2007 10:49 am

Hey, guys. Here's a video of my brother and I covering a song by the band Brand New called Luca. To have a frame of reference, here's a yousendit link for the original recording:

I'm sure a lot of people haven't heard of this band, let alone this song, but they are quite popular in the New York metropolitan area. It might come off as a little bit outlandish if you aren't familiar with the original version. Regardless, here it is:

Thanks for listening!

EDIT: Oh, and keep in mind that i'm not a singer... in fact, I rarely sing, but I threw in some background vocals for this song

Hahahaha, it's funny you say that because both my brother and I have this uncanny deficiency for remembering lyrics. For whatever reason we both have such difficulty remembering lyrics accurately... but we could both whistle any tune after hearing it only once. We're more adept at remembering melodies than anything else. Haha... anyway, thanks for the compliments, much appreciated.

Some lovin,

Main vocals, not bad at all, falsettos could have been stronger, couple slight pitchy sharped spots, but hard to notice for most ears..

Guitar, not bad, a little slopps at spots, but we expect it to be perfect if it's not a difficult piece...

backup vocals, seemed forced, a little off time, more spoken then sung, and clashed pitches a lil with your bro..

Lots of potential, just clean things up...

And lastly.. the paint job in the room... I can't freakin stand it.. I'm sorry to be so harsh.. but it gives me the feelin you guys are jammin in your little sisters room... I'm waiting for somone to pull out a care bear they're sitting on...

Peace, keep jammin, I'm jealous you have a brother that's into music who you cam jam with, be greatfull....

Thanks for the crit - I know my vocals are weak.. i'm not a gifted singer, but I threw it out there.

As for the room - the walls are actually orange and white. It looks a lot better in person than it does in the videos.. trust me they aren't pink.
