Unread post by juineaux » Tue Feb 03, 2004 10:21 pm

My low E string is slightly sharper at the 5th and 7th fret than open. Does anyone know of an easy way to fix this?

its on my acoustic-

When you fret the note it bends the string, causing it to be sharp. The higher the action the more noticable this is.

get your guitar set up. Should cost about $50 and they should fix the intonation, clean your frets, etc. Think of it as a tune up for your guitar.

I just say that I want my guitar set-up, and tell the luthier (sp?) about some of the problems I've been noticing.

You would tell him/her about your E string.

I have a question though, how often should this be done? Just when you notice a problem, or once a year when the weather changes?

I don't want them to fuck-up my guitars by working on them too much.

I heard you should have your neck adjusted with every change of the season. Four times a year.
