I got one of their capos for Christmas, and there's an offer for 2 free packs of strings (+ shipping) when you buy one pack. Are they any good?

*OR* get Dean Markley, so you can actualy get a good sound out of the guitar.

<== dislikes elixers
<== doesn't get why anyone likes d'addario

dean markleys give a great full sound out of the guitar. Not too bright, not too low, just right, and they last a good while.

D'addario strings are terrible. They came on my Tak, all they do is squeak and turn your fingers green.

If your fingers turn green you know its a time to change strings .... And they only squeak if you play them wrong , just like any other strings

Well, I went to the guitar store today.. Fordleys Music in Champion, OH, if anyone is close to me. Anyway, I was talking with the owner, and all he had were John Pearse mediums. Never heard of them before, but I had a $25 gift cert, and he highly recommended them, so I figured why not. Frank has never steered me wrong before. I just changed the strings, and all I can say is WOW!! These things are amazing! Such a bright full sound. For my $25 I got the strings, 3 picks, a string wrench, and a nylon strap. Not a bad deal if anyone wants to check them out. $7.95 for 1 pack of strings.

I just ordered some Pearse strings for my D-15. I am hearing nothing but good things, figured I'd try 'em out.

He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

You'll really like them. I'm going to stick with these for a while. Only thing is it's going to take some getting used to going from Martin lights to these. They're much thicker.

I got the 12-53's - I think that is the same size as what came with my D-15. I *think*.

i've got nanaowebs on right now, and i do like the sound, but it does sound a bit fake, had d'add's for a while, and really, its just preference, the d'add's lasted a long time, and they were just the normal lights, but if you guys say these pearse strings are good, why not try em next time? thanks fellas
