anybody else get pissed when it says "TAB" but

anybody else get pissed when it says "TAB" but

it's actually just chords? arghh chords are good but they aren't tab. Tab is melody and sometimes riffs/chords in graphical form. i just wish people would label their transcriptions right so i don't have to weed through 40 sites before i find a real tab...

I know what you mean. I went through that with a lot with DMB songs before I found this site. Chords alone for Dave stuff is just about useless anyway.

tabs dont just help newbs. tabs are necessary, especially when there aren't any transcriptions of the song in standard notation

Good way of putting it FJ , also just because TAB might be easier to understand than music notation , doesn't mean you're a less advanced player , TAB or music notation still won't teach you how to play , it only shows you what to play ;)

it'd be darn near impossible to play Dave without tabs.

I can usually figure out the key just by listening and humming along to a song, and i can usually force a quick solo out even if i am totally lost on the exact chords of the song.

hearing the chords is hard, so it's weird that rhythm is one of the hardest to just jump into, but it's the easiest to just play. but knowing the chords is good, i'm just annoyed that CHORD files are labeled as TAB files.

i have a lot of trouble picking out riffs in songs and TAB is an easy way to not have to sit and listen to a song for 2 hours to figure out the riff. i absolutely love TAB. combined with notation (like powertab) it makes music so much easier.
